Safe Approach Distances

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course provides the participant with the knowledge and skills to maintain safe approach distances (S.A.D’s) to Extra High Voltage (EHV), high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus and how they apply in a transmission or distribution work environment when working, or operating vehicles or mobile plant, on or near live electrical apparatus. It encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes, and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

Initial – 4 hours

Refresher – 2 hours

PREREQUISITE

Good knowledge and understanding of the electrical supply industry.

CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of this course each participant will be eligible to receive a Certificate of Completion
