Qualification Overview

This course covers the initial and refresher training on an individual’s knowledge and skills in the safe performance or rescue procedures from a tower structure in the workplace. It specifies the requirements of rescue from a transmission powerline tower structure and how they apply in a transmission work environment. It encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes, and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

Unit Prerequisites

HLTAID009 – Perform CPR

Participant Prerequisites

Initial – Working Safely at Heights

Refresher – Currency in Performing Tower Rescue, and Working Safely at Heights

Qualification Delivery Methods

  • Classroom presentations, group discussions, and exercises
  • Assessments – knowledge and practical

Course Duration

Initial – 8 hours

Refresher – 2 hours

Group Size

Minimum/Maximum 6 participants

Certification

Upon successful completion of an initial course each participant will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment

National RecognitionNationally Recognised Training Badge

Powerline Training will recognise qualifications or Statements of Attainment issued by another RTO for the purposes of:

RPL – (Recognition of prior learning)

CT – (Credit transfer)
