Qualification Overview

This course covers the initial and refresher training of an individual’s knowledge and skills in the safe evacuation from an Elevated Work Platform (EWP) using a controlled descent device. It covers requirements for self rescue from a raised EWP and how they apply in a transmission, distribution or rail work environment. It encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes, and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

Participant Prerequisites

Initial – Current EWP operators high risk licence

Refresher – Must have completed initial training

Qualification Delivery Methods

  • Classroom presentations, group discussions, and exercises
  • Assessments – knowledge and practical

Course Duration

Initial – 4 hours

Refresher – 2 hours

Group Size

Minimum/Maximum 6 participants

Certification

Upon successful completion of an initial course each participant will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment

Powerline Training will recognise qualifications or Statements of Attainment issued by another RTO for the purposes of:

RPL – (Recognition of prior learning)

CT – (Credit transfer)
